Brandlesholme Warriors v Horwich RMI Steamers Whites
Date: 2010-09-04
Author: Mark Stafford
Report:
A cold wet start to the morning ended up really sunny and warm. This was reflected by both teams playing some really good football.
The game was quickly in full flow with the home team taking n early advantage with some bright play and good team work. A few more goals followed and both teams played some really good football and good wing play from the opposition which ended with the away team coming close.
The same pattern continued early in to the second half and ended with the home team building on the first half with some really good teamwork and further goals.
The match ended and all behaved in manner with the FA guidelines shaking hands and congratulating each other.
My thanks to Simon, his team , and all parents involved and attended who were really encouraging, arrived on time and supported their players in an enthusiastic manner.
A really good start for Brandleshome Warriors, with lots of things to work on for the next match.

Marauder Leopards v Bury Juniors FC South
Date: 2010-09-04
Author: Dave Clarke
Report:
A bright morning was the perfect conditions to start the new season.
Both teams played some fantastic football and in the right spirit. Marauders Leopards soon settled down and scored a well worked goal early on which always eases the nerves of the players, managers, and parents alike. The goals the started to flow for the Leopards and by half time the score suggested a very one sided match which was not the case - it was a good contest, however almost everything the leopards hit went in.
The scorers were Liam Peers (1), Charlie McCrae (1), Milo Clarke (2) Patrick O'Shea (3), Dilan Salaie (1) and Tayeo Gordon (2). The home team were also assisted by an own goal.
Congratualtions to all of the players, and good luck to Bury Juniors FC South for the rest of the seaon.
Thanks to the referee who had a good game, and especially to all the parents, whose assitance is invaluable.
Horwich RMI Bullets v Ladybridge Lightening
Date: 2010-09-04
Author: Dave
Report:
Horwich RMI 4
Ladybridge 5
RMI opened the 2010-11 season with a defeat by the odd goal in nine to a very
strong Ladybridge side containing some familiar faces.
Jordan led the way with an impressive hat-trick for the home side, with James
also on the scoresheet in a tight encounter.
But the whole team can be pleased with their efforts after a performance that
bodes well for the rest of their top flight campaign.
Jordan volleyed at the Ladybridge keeper before Callum and James combined well
and RMI opened the scoring when Jordan waltzed past three defenders before
firing home.
The visitors levelled before Robbie produced the first of a number of fine
saves, although he received good protection from the centre backs Jack and
William.
Despite their efforts, Ladybridge went in front for the first time midway
through the first half.
But their lead was short-lived as the ball was cleared to James who smashed it
home to make it 2-2.
With Ethan working hard on the right and Adam leading the line in attack, RMI
were more than a match for the visitors.
Charlie fired an effort wide and Callum sent one over the top as Horwich
finished the half strongly and Ryan was denied by a fine save soon after the
break.
Ladybridge were back in front five minutes into the second half and it took a
couple of good saves from Robbie to prevent them from extending their advantage.
Jordan's second of the game levelled it up again, but the visitors were ahead
4-3 following a close range effort.
RMI refused to lie roll over and Jack's free kick on the right was smacked home
at the far post by Jordan.
Ladybridge scored their fifth straight from the kick off and despite their best
efforts there was no way back for Horwich.
Our first game in section 1 and a great game of footbal between two good teams
Horwich St Marys Comets v Ladybridge Athletic
Date: 2010-09-04
Author: Paul O'Rourke
Report:
This was Comets first game of the season, which was also our home game, we had been allocated the large pitch at Harper Green, which we thought would be ideal for our style of play.
The kicked off, both teams were equal to the competition, very few opportunities either end for the first 15 minutes, for me though the success was the back four for the Comets, they looked so settled and organised and were happy to deal with any attack, snubbing it out with ease.
Raz scored a free kick late into the first half, this set us on our way a bit, with that we made a few changes, we scored another within 5 minutes or so, Dec scored what can only be described as a five year itch!!! Although not sure how much Dec knew about his touch which led to the OG!
Second half, we made a few changes again, scored quickly after the break, 3-0 up. For me we lost out shape and way a bit here, put ourselves under pressure which led to a goal by Ladybridge. Quickly the same route through albeit in my opinion they were offside.
No sooner had we dropped a goal, Brad stepped up on his debut and scored a great goal, another two maybe three good chances came for us, with Christian on the line, but they slipped by. Then with 10 minutes to go, we had a melt down at the back and this allowed Ladybridge to nick a third, 4-3!
Nerves set in, with that we reverted to our best formation to get some shape back and we held on for a win. It was pressured day, but as usuall the win and the team made me very proud to be their manager.
Paul.
