Clarity on discipline issues
Time and time again teams are brought before the committee with regards discipline matters which can be time consuming to resolve.
As such at our latest committee meeting (22/10/07) we unaminously decided in order to be transparent and in order to ensure uniformity across the board we would post a discipline matrix that we work to, so that all teams fully understand what will happen to them if they breach league rules, in respect of minor issues.
Please find below a copy of the matrix we are working to, but please also note this is for offences which we deem minor in nature. For a major offence (i.e one which a person or a number of persons write in to the league in order to resolve), or a serious offence, (i.e. one which involves cheating, deception, racist remarks etc) will be dealt with outside this matrix on a case, by case basis.
Please note all of these punishments are subject to the usual right of appeal.
As agreed, relevant age group secretaries will deal with the following infractions:
- (1) Failure to inform referee of their fixture
- (2) Failure to inform referee of game being cancelled
By way of the following procedure: Referee to be recompensed with his or her full fee
As agreed, relevant age group secretaries deal with the following infractions:
- (1) Failure to register players on time for start of season
- (2) Failure to ring in results to age group secretary
- (3) Failure to produce laminates on match days
- (4) Failure to inform age group secretary of re-arranged fixture
- (5) Call off / postpone a game without authority of the age group secretary
- (6) Failure to inform opponents of details of forthcoming match (i.e. time, ground etc.)
- (7) Failure to complete match cards
- (8) Failure to send match cards to age group secretary before the following Wednesday after the .match
- (9) Any other offence which the committee deem to be minor in nature
By way of the following procedure:
First offence Warning letter stating which rule broken and to include the 7 day appeal process.
Second offence Deduct 3 points
Third offence Deduct 3 points
And so on
This will run continuously until the end of the season by way of a 3-point deduction for every offence.
The committee will hope you will agree that this is a fair and open system which gives all teams clarity on what will happen should they breach league rules.
It still does not impose a financial penalty and it is placed here as an encouragement to ensure compliance with the rules.
We do not wish to impose any of these sanctions, although we know that this will not always be possible, but hopefully any sanctions imposed will be minimal.
The latest Lancashire FA suspensions can be seen by clicking the following link:
Please note that the onus is on the teams to ensure that they aware of who is suspended and if a suspended player is played then it will be you as a team and a club who would be held responsible
